Types of Pumps

Submersible Well Pumps

Most households on well water these days rely on a submersible well pump to deliver them water. The submersible pump is located almost at the bottom of a drilled well and can be set as shallow as  20 ft.  to over 1000 Ft deep. Kappus Pumps and Plumbing uses various methods and equipment to remove and replace your faulty well pump like our UP-Z-Daisy pump puller that mounts over your well for jobs under 500 ft. deep,  to our hoist truck service for deeper and larger wells capable of lifting up to 12,000 lbs in weight. We carry the most popular sized pumps in our trucks along with all the necessary materials at all times. We are readily available on site to get working promptly and efficiently to get you back and running. Most customers usually have their water running again that day.  We service all brands of pumps, Goulds , Franklin, Jacuzzi, Grundfos, Pentair, and many more. For more information call The Pump Man C.F. Kappus Pumps & Plumbing for submerible well water pumps and services.

Constant Pressure Water Systems

Conventional well water systems are typically designed to work with a pressure switch, set at 40-60 PSI (pounds per square inch), and a storage tank. The pump turns on, at full capacity, when the pressure drops to 40 PSI to fill a pressurized storage tank. Once the tank is filled to capacity, the pump shuts off and water demand is met by the storage tank. The pump runs at one speed. When you use multiple sources of water (example: shower & dishwasher), your water pressure drops quickly causing fluctuations in pressure and water flow to diminish.

The Pentek Intellidrive helps eliminate these issues. The Pentek Intellidrive will maintain constant pressure output regardless of fluctuating demand. The Pentek Intellidrives works utilizing a pressure transducer that signals the pump to change speed to meet the water demand, while keeping pressure constant. When the water demand increases (i.e. the dishwasher gets turned on), the pump speed increases allowing constant pressure at all times. When the water demand decreases (the dishes are done), the pump speed decreases. The pump maintains constant pressure by only speeding up when it needs to.

We service all major brands and are a dealer and installer of the Pentair Intelidrive  and Yaskawa drives. We service all major brands.

Jet Pumps & Jet Pump Conversions

Jet Pumps and or centrifugal pumps are usually located above ground usually in the vicinity of the water tank.  They are less commonly used today on residential application due to their lake of performance vs a submersible pump.  There are still many applications where they are still necessary. In many cases on these older systems it may be more cost effective to upgrade the system to a Submersible pump rather than repairing an old out dated Jet pumpsystem. The Submersible pump upgrade will give you better performance and higher pressures over most out dated Jet pump systems without worrying of losing prime like the old jet pump. Call The Pump Man C.F.
